A Poem Dealing With Death – He Only Takes the Best

God saw that she was getting tired
And a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around her
And whispered, “Come with me”.
With tear filled eyes we watched her suffer
And fade away
Although we loved her deeply
We could not, make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only, takes the best.

I’m so glad that Matt and I are done with the wedding chapter of our lives…

I typed some other things, but I decided not to post the rest of it. I guess I felt a lil too exposed.

Here’s a related blog entry I wrote, with some of my own poetry, several months after this one.
